Rationale:
Used at the start of our purchasing projects, this course introduces clients to the strategic sourcing process. The focus of the course is to give your personnel who will be working on a strategic sourcing project comfort with the process, their role, and the time they will commit.
Attendees:
This course is for all those who will be involved in a strategic sourcing project, including executives, managers with a vested interest in the outcome of the project, and commodity team members at all levels.
The process uses multifunctional teams so representatives of the following departments should be present:
- Purchasing
- Operations
- Finance
- Engineering
- Quality
Timing:
At the beginning of a strategic sourcing project.
Objectives:
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the key success factors in the alliance process.
- Describe the key steps in the strategic sourcing process.
- Describe the necessity of each step and how it ties to the overall project goals.
- Recognize the key outputs of each stage of the process.
- Recognize one’s personal time commitment.
