George W. Howard
Senior Partner
George Howard is currently a senior partner at Gibson Consulting, LLC, heading its China Procurement Operations. Prior to joining Gibson Consulting George was with Gibson and Associates, Inc. as co-founder and owner. George helped to grow the firm from startup to a 150 person entity with offices in Chicago/Tampa/London in 10 years. He designed and built the Sales and Marketing service line, he was responsible for the integration of ecommerce and internet technologies into existing core service line of supply chain management. George introduced the firm services into the European theatre and was also responsible for the business development process for the firm. While at Gibson George managed the largest and longest running client engagement for the firm.
George was Chief Operating Officer of Alaris Consulting and was responsible for migration, introduction and integration of firm services into
China
and was responsible for overhauling all processes related to supply chain management for operation in
China
. He was the leading revenue producer during his tenure at Alaris and was responsible for introducing the manufacturing outsourcing service line to the firm.
George started out his career at IBM as a design engineer in the mainframe computer division. He transferred to the sales team and became the top salesperson in 1983. George managed the IBM sales training instructors for two years and was named top instructor. During his time at IBM George served clients in the energy, insurance, department of defense and government industries and spent several years in executive management positions. In George’s last assignment with IBM he was responsible for Shuttle Operations at
Cape Kennedy
($60M dollar business unit).
George is a guest speaker on many occasions for supply chain, sales, and logistics conferences and has published several articles on client relationship management and
China
operations. He is a member of the board of the business school for the
University
of
Florida
, and a guest instructor in the entrepreneurial college at the
University
of
Florida.
George graduated from Clemson University
with highest honors (top 1% of class) and obtained degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
